About Clip 'n Climb Cambridge
Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge is an award-winning ‘climbing centre meets theme park’. We opened in 2016 and have since welcomed over 200,000 climbers through our doors. We run special sessions for toddlers, schools, those with additional needs, Home Education families, companies, and youth groups. We are also one of Cambridge’s most popular places for birthday parties.
We have a small team of full-time staff, but also a dedicated and fantastic team of casual staff that work at weekends and holidays on the climbing arena and café. We won a national award for customer service in 2019, and pride ourselves on making sure all our customers have a great time with us.
Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge is one of two climbing centres run by Walthew Leisure. Our sister centre is Climb Quest in Milton Keynes. Walthew Leisure is run by Beth and Chris Walthew, and is an independent, family-run company.
Why are we recruiting?
Our team was with us before and during the lockdown, but life moves on, University beckons and we have members of our team leaving in September 2021. We're recruiting for people to start this summer with their training and some shifts, so by September and we wave goodbye to some, we have a well-trained new team ready to go!
Front of House and Café Supervisor (40 hours per week, permanent contract)
The FOH and Cafe Supervisor’s role is to work alongside the FOH and Café Manager to successfully run the reception and café and ensure Clip ‘n Climb’s high standards of customer service are met.
The role will include acting as Duty Manager for the centre on certain shifts and may also include any aspect of the reception and café operation including equipment, facilities, health and safety, customer-care, and administration.
We hope that there will be progression in this role to Manager level from September onwards, as our current FOH and Café Manager will be leaving our full-time team then.

Climbing Supervisor (40 hours per week, permanent contract)
The role of Climbing Supervisor acts as a bridge between the roles of ‘Instructor’ and Climbing Team Manager. A Supervisor will regularly be asked to conduct briefings, floor manage the arena, oversee the maintenance of climbing equipment and be vigilant with ongoing health and safety demands. On occasion, there will be the need to step into the role of a Duty Manager, although this will be limited.

Front of House and Café Assistant (casual contract)
The FOH and Café Assistant’s role is to work alongside the FOH and Café Team to successfully run the reception, café and kitchen and ensure customers’ expectation of food and drink and customer service are met. This may include any aspect of the café operation including working on reception, answering enquiries, hosting birthday parties, food preparation work, equipment, facilities, health and safety, customer-care, and cleaning. The FOH and Café Team are also trained in basic skills to help on the arena if needed.
