Autism-friendly and SEN Sessions

At Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge, we passionately share an ethos around inclusion for all, supporting groups and individuals to challenge themselves, and promoting healthy lifestyle activities. We try and support as many people as possible climbing through our regular events, work with charities and groups, and through 1:1 activities.

Our friendly instructors are always on hand to help people climb at Clip 'n Climb Cambridge.

Every month we have an Autism-friendly and SEN session, perfect for our climbers who would like a more relaxed session or to use our climbing hoist.  We’d like to make more links to individuals and groups in the area, so we’re holding 4 free ‘Have A Go’ sessions on Friday 21st May, so children and adults with additional needs can come and climb for 30 minutes, to see whether Clip 'n Climb Cambridge is for them.  Email us to book a free space.

Sessions are at 4pm, 4.30pm, 5pm and 5.30pm.  Numbers are limited to 10 climber per session.  Parents and carers are welcome on the arena.

We'd really appreciate your help spreading the word with this session, so if you're part of any networks that might be interested, would you pass the information on?

SEND Sundays

On the 3rd Sunday of each month during term time, Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge run a special session for those climbers with special educational needs. Between 9 and 10am, we provide a calm environment for all members of the family to climb. We turn the music right down if needed, and there are plenty of instructors to help. We also restrict numbers in the session to 14.

Sessions are £10 per climber.

We are very been fortunate to work with Spectrum Cambridge, a multi-award winning, parent led charity, providing events and support for families of children with Autism, additional needs, learning difficulties and disabilities.

On the 1st Sunday of every month, we gift Spectrum a session. They have also run various fundraising events, including the same height as Mount Everest in one session!

All places on these sessions are booked through Spectrum.

Visit Spectrum’s website for more information.

Booking your own event

If you would like to organise your own event, please call us on 01223 941 700 to discuss availability of sessions.

Climbing hoist

The centre has two climbing hoists that we can use to help those who find it difficult to climb. We can help two people per session with the hoist. If you would like to pre-book the hoist for your child, please email us or call 01223 941 700. The hoist is not in operation all the time, and needs to be set up, so we need to know that you would like to use it. You are very welcome to arrange a time to visit the centre before your session to meet some of our instructors, and to be shown the walls and hoist.

Visiting the centre

If you would like to visit the centre to assess whether it’s an activity that is right for you, or whether you need extra assistance when you’re here, please email us or call on 01223 941 700 to arrange a free visit.

Please get in touch if you would like to book a session for your organisation.
