CLIMB DOWN

Taking charity fundraising events in Cambridge to new heights

Clip ’n Climb Cambridge can provide the perfect venue for your next engaging and fun charity challenge for companies. Choose between three different challenges for companies with teams of between 6 and 36 people.

Benefits

Where climbing centre meets theme park, Clip ’n Climb Cambridgeis suitable for all ages, abilities and confidence levels, with no prior climbing experience required.

There is something for everyone at Clip ’n Climb Cambridge, whether your corporate supporters have a group of keen climbers or complete novices. As a charity, you could invite companies that you have an existing link with or use this as an opportunity to work with new companies.

You may want to have a range of companies participating, or you may wish to invite companies from similar industries to compete against each other for the quickest time.

You can also have other groups of supporters of all ages, such as schools, sport teams and youth groups, participating in the same event.

Raising Money

Corporates and other teams of supporters that have participated in our charity events have not found it hard to raise money for these challenges, because climbing the heigh of a mountain such as Ben Nevis or Everest sounds an epic feat. Feedback from charities is that they raise on average £3,000 from their Clip ’n Climb Cambridge climbing challenge, and some raise considerably more than this.

Please note that all monies raised are for your charity to collect.

Challenges for Charities

We have three main charity challenges:

Ben Nevis

The Ben Nevis challenges works really well for six teams of six people.  Within an hour, each team needs to climb 224 walls (38 walls per person) which is the equivalent of the height of Ben Nevis (1,344m).

Three Peaks

This challenge is harder, with the team needing to climb 508 walls (3,045m), the same as the UK's highest peaks, Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scafell Pike.  This challenge is best done with either two teams going quickly, or one team taking a bit more easy!

Everest

Mount Everest is 8,848m (1,475 walls).  This challenge is best for just one team of 36 climbers, who each need to climb 41 walls each.

Your own mountain or landmark

You can also choose to climb the equivalent height of another mountain or landmark that relates more to your charity or other fundraising efforts. For example, Willen Hospice climbed the equivalent height of Mount Kilimanjaro, in preparation for their fundraising climb up the real thing.

Additional fundraising challenges

To add a bit of extra drama to your event, we can also include extra challenges within your time at Clip ’n Climb, which you can ask participants for donations to enter:

Speed Wall Challenge

Climb like an Olympian and see who is the fastest up our timed Speed Walls.

Triffid Challenge

Who can climb our hardest wall – very few manage this feat!

Extreme Challenges

Get your adrenaline pumping by tackling our two Extreme Challenges; the Stairway to Heaven and the Vertical Drop Slide. These are included in your charity session, however, we normally charge £3 per go on these, so you can ask for participants to make a donation if they would like to have a go.

Prices

For just £350, you can rent the climbing arena for two hours, and invite teams of people who are climbing to raise money for your charity. As a charity, you are responsible for finding your teams, and deciding whether there is an entrance charge, or whether each team needs to commit to raising a certain amount of money.

We will provide the venue, and manage the climbing and challenges on the night, alongside your representative.  We give everyone a full safety briefing before they climb. Refreshments are available from our cafe at an extra cost.

Booking Information

Our events can be held during the week in school term times, with 6.30pm being the most popular start time. Generally, the events take two hours, including a full safety briefing.

Extreme Challenges
The group had a great time, it was such fun and we really enjoyed the challenge. Some of the people who use our services had the idea of organising a fundraising challenge to help raise money for social, and wellbeing activities at Wintercomfort, such as a visit to the seaside, fishing trips etc. As it’s Mental Health Awareness Week we decided this week would be a good time to share this with our supporters and have so far raised, £879 (+ GiftAid) which is amazing!
